Blake Griffin's has definitely made a name for himself in the NBA. Not that the Clippers weren't exciting to watch, but I'm sure people are now tuning in to each game to see what dunks Griffin will pull-off. I witnessed his first dunk and from this video, he has an entire repertoire readily available, causing defenders to prepare for "posterization."

In yet another trade by the NBA's Western Conference, The Seattle Sonics' have moved forward/center "Crazy" Kurt Thomas out to San Antonio for the Spurs' Brent Barry, Francisco Elson and a 2009 first-round draft pick. This move will bring additional size to the Spurs and will help them compete with many of the other recently bolstered teams in the West.
Recent acquisitions in the conference have been Shaquille O'Neal (Phoenix Suns), Chris Webber (Golden State Warriors), Jason Kidd (Dallas Mavericks), Pau Gasol (Los Angeles Lakers) and now Kurt Thomas.
Thomas is averaging 7.5 points and 8.8 rebounds a game, this season.

The Flavor of Love 2 premiered tonight on VH1 and I'd pretty much written it off. Sure last season was a hit and kept viewers coming back for more crazy and unbelievable moments. But I figured, what are the chances of the show keeping that interest. Well after watching tonight's premiere I think I'll be back for more.
The women vying for Flav's love are indeed characters and, so far, seem like they can hold their own against those from last season. But what everyone will be talking about from tonight's premiere is...the movement. Don't wanna say to much, if you haven't already seen the episode, but "Somethn" (one of Flav's groupie's and perpetrator of "the movement") claims that "it could happen to anyone." Nah, playa! Ain't happen'n!

Let's talk basketball people...
News of the day is that Larry Brown was fired today as coach of the New York Knicks and Isaiah Thomas, team president and general manager, will takeover the hell...I mean helm. Hmmm...most people kinda figured this out at the end of the season but it seemed that the only obstacle was Larry Brown's contract which could allow him to collect $40 million large, even if ousted. Well, make that two obstacles, as Brown said he wouldn't resign.
So what happened that made the the Knicks decide to finally take the step to boot Brown out of his 2nd coaching job in 2 years? Who knows for sure? Maybe Isaiah Thomas, team president and general manager, was recently inspired by Coach Pat Riley's rise to the NBA Championship on Tuesday. I reckon he wanted to takeover as coach before the season ended but now he has a viable excuse to stroke his ego as he echoes Riley's jump from the board room to the bench.
I would hope the more practical reason for going from the front office to the front row is to clean up the mess Thomas made here in New York. He stirred the pot now he should eat it, and not leave the table until he's finished.
I just hope Larry get his just due.
On another note, Los Angeles Laker and New York native Smush Parker says he loves the run at Nike Pro City Tournament held every summer at NYCs Hunter College.
